The Adaptec Serial Attached SCSI RAID 4800SAS is an 8-port I/O processor-based RAID controller ideal for workstations and servers. The PCI-X host interface connects to high-performance SAS or cost- effective SATA disk drives. The industry-proven Adaptec RAID software offers the most advanced data protection available with features including Dual Drive Failure Protection (RAID 6), mirroring an odd number of drives (RAID 1E), Hot Space (RAID 5EE), and optional Snapshot Backup for simplified data backup. Adaptec Storage Manager™ provides centralized management for Adaptec RAID controllers and HBAs. Extensive OS support includes Windows® Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, RedHat and SuSE Linux, Netware, and FreeBSD.
