The Adaptec Serial Attached SCSI RAID 4805SAS is an 8-port I/O processor-based RAID controller ideal for workstations and servers. The PCI Express host interface connects to high-performance SAS or cost-effective SATA disk drives. The industry-proven Adaptec RAID software offers the most advanced data protection available with features including Dual Drive Failure Protection (RAID-6), mirroring an odd number of drives (RAID-1E), Hot Space (RAID-5EE), and optional Snapshot Backup for simplified data backup. Adaptec Storage Manager™ provides centralized management for Adaptec RAID controllers and HBAs. Extensive OS support includes Windows® Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, RedHat and SuSE Linux, Netware and FreeBSD.
