SCA Adapters Installation Instructions

Installation

Connect both the power connector (PWR) and either the 50-pin or
68-pin SCSI connection to the adapter before plugging the 80-pin
SCA connector of the adapter onto the drive.

  • (80-50): If the adapter has on board active termination, removing
    the jumper on JP2 will disable the termination feature.
  • (80-68): If the adapter has on board active termination, removing
    the jumper on J1 will disable the termination feature.
Jumper Functions
LED No jumper should be installed here.
These pins are used to drive a remote "activity" LED
via a wire harness. Pin 1 is the anode pin and is connected
to +5v through a pull-up resistor. Pin 2 is the cathode connection
to the device.
SYN Used as a wire harness connection
for a remote reference index signal for the spindle sync feature.
Motor Start Controls

The method of starting the drive’s motor is established by
the signals RMT and DLY.

power-up.
off  on Drive will not start until command is
received from host
on  off Drive start-up is delayed a duration equal
to 12 seconds
